I am excited to extend an invitation to this year's Fast & Female event, which will be held on September 9th from 3-5:30 PM at APU Atwood Center. Different than previous years, we are gearing this year's event towards high school female athletes- giving them an opportunity to connect with professional athletes and other girls in sports. The event will include a short run (all speeds welcome!) followed by an open discussion lead by the ambassadors, which will cover a range of topics specific to female athletes. We will end the session with a mobility/stretching session and pizza!
Registration is $10 and closes on Saturday the 8th. Here is the sign up link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/anchorage-2018-power-hour-tickets-49531963436 Please pass this information along to your girls, and don't hesitate to contact with me with any questions! Hope to see your athletes there! Jessica Yeaton Lot going on this week....

The team will depart at 3pm on Friday the 17th for the Soldotna overnight and run the following afternoon. All athletes competing must be on the bus down so coaches and chaperones have a fixed headcount. Signed permission slips are required. Athletes must bring at least $20 for Friday night pizza and Saturday afternoon lunch. A sleeping mat and sleeping bag, a change of clothes, and racing/running gear are recommended. There will be a sign out sheet for parents after the meet. The bus should return to Service High around 7pm. A remind message will be sent out if the timing changes significantly. The booster club is looking for food volunteers! Side dishes and breakfast items are needed - link in "Tsalteshi Overnight" The team is still looking for a parent or parents who could bring tents and coolers to the meets. If you have a pickup or large SUV - please head on over to the Parent tab - look for the tent and cooler link! The team would appreciate help for one or all meets. You can keep the tents/coolers at your home, or pick up at the school the morning of the meet. Stay informed by signing up on Remind for news flashes. Remind is a communication app many teachers use to keep their students and parents informed during the school year. We use it for short term news. For instance, we would send a Remind message if a bus from a meet is going to be late returning to Service, or for the address of that evening's spaghetti feed.
